Went out at 8 am, a cool 63 degrees & 67% humidity.  At 10, it was still only 72 degrees and 50% humidity!  I am so ready for fall, I actually like running in cooler temps!  :)

This was my longest training run ever ... woohoo!  I felt pretty good, and just wanted to keep my pace around 8 minute miles.  Because I felt good I was able to comfortably run a little faster, as that helps the time to seem to go by faster!

Probably threw my chance at a 10k pr out the window for Sunday night, but my October marathon is the only race I am thinking about right now anyway.  Tomorrow will be a day of rest, and Sundays 10k will close out the week with a solid fast tempo run, putting me over my goal of 50 miles for the week.

This run was the conclusion to my mostly flat PA training, where over the last 24 days I ran 168 miles and biked 100 miles ... a good step in the right direction for my marathon training.

GREAT run JG! Good luck on Sunday eve!

Good run. That pace is perfect for getting ready for your marathon in October. If you build up to 20 to 22 miles at that pace you will be ready to go sub 3 hours.

Great long run, and good luck this weekend!

Thanks guys, felt like I could have kept going holding that pace, but I have not gone over half marathon distance in a long time, so figured 18 was the top end of what I should attempt. Forecast is calling for 70 degrees & thundershowers at 6:30 pm Sunday, so although it will be high humidity, I am liking the temps ... although I will not be liking the hills! lol 2 miles up, 2 miles steeper down, 2.2 miles up ... usually I have a detailed race plan, but not sure how to tackle this one ... other than digging deep & gutting out the last 14 minutes! It is a small race, so maybe no speedy Masters will show up ... as a $75 prize would help me dig deeper!! :)
